A Great Way to Start The Day

Naturally, I am NOT a morning person! Few things help me wake up and smile early on, especially around 4 am, but the smile of my precious granddaughter, Hailey! I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to see her and take care of her often. I have a grandson too in Texas that I don’t get to see often. Both babies were born within this last year and are six months apart.

Little babies and children do not have the cares and stresses of the world to get them down like adults do. It doesn’t take much to make them content, happy and smile. They are very dependent on their parents, grandparents or someone older to care for them. It is an honor also, to take her to church with us! We pray that as we are able, we can introduce her to the Lord and set an example for her of how important it is to have Him in our lives! When she gets older, she will find that she will need the Lord to get through each day and life in general! I pray that she will continue smiling, even in less joyous times, in tough times! It is certainly a joy to pass on peace, hope and love to others when we actually smile at them and smile during the day. It circulates to others and impacts their life in a positive way, especially when they aren’t at their best time in life. So spread joy to others today, and everyday, try and remember what this does for others! When I look at my Grandbabies, and pictures of them, it totally lights up my countenance! Several verses in the Bible talk about cheering up, spreading joy and having a joyful countenance! The definition of countenance is a “ Look, Expression, a mental composure and a calm expression” according to Merriam-Webster.com When we are with babies and little children, we often watch and listen to shows or music that is more on their level, but on occasion, we realize this could benefit us too! This morning I heard the song ” If You’re Happy and You Know It!” One line states ” If you’re happy and you know it, then you’re face will truly show it.” How true this is! When we have peace and joy in our heart, our face will truly show it!

John 16:33 “have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Proverbs 15:13 “A happy heart makes the face cheerful,
but heartache crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 17:22 A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
