Wise Quotes for Independence Day-Founding Fathers

I am going to give you some of the quotes today from a few of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. These are wise quotes for Independence Day-Founding Fathers.

I predict future happiness for Americans, if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of people taking care of them

Thomas Jefferson

Self-Motivation

I am doing good to the poor, but… I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. I observed… that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And on the contrary, the less that was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

Benjamin Franklin

Some people will really have issues with this, but I believe Benjamin Franklin was correct in saying this. It doesn’t do anything good by just giving some people everything. If a person doesn’t understand that they need to work in order to have, they will do nothing good for themselves or their families. I understand that difficult circumstances happen and people need help, but government help should never be considered permanent.

The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself.

Benjamin Franklin

Happiness can’t be given! Work hard for it!

Posterity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom! I hope that you will make good use of it.

John Adams

This is correct! Freedom is never free!

Honesty is the first chapter of the book wisdom.

Thomas Jefferson

Learn to Appreciate

How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy.

Thomas Jefferson

This is SO true!!! I heard a few years ago, some teens complain about our nation. They have no understanding how fortunate they are. I truly wish that everyone who complains about our nation, could go to a number of places on earth to truly experience and see what other people live in, then dare them to come back and complain!

Those who expect to be both ignorant and free, expect what never was and never will be.

Thomas Jefferson

I don’t see many in schools today and our culture in general, reading, studying and researching what they hear. They are truly content being ignorant. We can’t do that! Study and know what you are learning and hearing. See if it is true or false.

The longer I live, the more I read, the more patiently I think, and the more anxiously I inquire, the less I seem to know… Do justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly. This is enough.

John Adams

It is enough. While I wrote above to study, read, and know information, the best you can do is still to do justly, love mercy, walk humbly. A walk with God and treating people right is above all else.

The way to secure liberty is to place it in the people’s hand’s, that is, to give them the power at all times to defend it in the legislature and in the courts of justice.

John Adams

Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.

Benjamin Franklin

    1. I enjoyed them a lot! It is so true that many have forgotten or never knew how the founding fathers believed and spoke. If leaders today believed the same for our nation, we would be in a very different position right now. People would be very different in general. People need to know and be introduced or re-introduced to these beliefs. Thank you so much for commenting! God bless!
